The Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) Safe Mobility for Life Program and Coalition wanted to raise awareness among law enforcement across the state about how to identify and respond to at-risk drivers.

Global-5 and Enforcement Engineering worked with the Coalition to develop FDOT’S Safe Mobility for Life Law Enforcement Roll Call training video and toolkit titled “Helping Florida’s Aging Drivers Stay Safe and Mobile.”

Global-5 developed the script and produced the video with Grady Carrick of Enforcement Engineering. Global-5 worked with the Florida Highway Patrol, City of Winter Park Police Department and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office to include Florida law enforcement officers.

The video and toolkit inform law enforcement officers of available training resources about how to respond when encountering at-risk drivers with health problems such as restricted movement, limited vision or impaired thinking.

In addition to the Safe Mobility for Life Law Enforcement toolkit web page, the video also has been placed on the Florida Law Enforcement Liaison training page and distributed to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Florida Sheriffs Association, Florida Police Chiefs Association and other public agencies and entities.
