Global-5 Communications helped the West Virginia Department of Transportation launch its West Virginia 511 Traveler Information System by coordinating a media event with the state’s Governor Earl Ray Tomblin and Secretary of Transportation Paul Mattox. The event held in the West Virginia Capitol attracted a large crowd of members of the media and stakeholders. In addition to securing coverage from media in attendance at the event, Sec. Mattox participated in a statewide satellite media tour following the announcement and conducted live interviews during noon news broadcasts across the state.

Global-5 developed a suite of marketing communications materials for the launch of the West Virginia 511 Traveler Information System including banner stands, display boards, media kits, high-resolution b-roll, informational fliers and tip cards. West Virginia 511 provides four convenient ways for travelers to receive free traffic information including a toll-free call to 511, the WV511.org website, the WV 511 Drive Safe mobile app for Android and iPhone and 12 WV511 Twitter feeds.
