The opening of the Grand National Drive overpass stands as an early example of how the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT’s) I-4 Ultimate Project is improving safety, mobility and economic possibilities along the 21-mile reconstruction effort. The new overpass links popular retail and entertainment areas on the east side of I-4 with attractions and hotels on the west side.

Global-5 organized a media event to raise public awareness of the new overpass opening by inviting local, state and federal dignitaries, project partners and other stakeholders to participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating this project milestone.

Before the event, Global-5 developed a comprehensive event plan and provided writing and editing services for crafting a media alert, news release and invitations for participants. We also designed and produced nine easel boards to display project information and the event agenda.

On the event day, management services we provided included public affairs, media relations and onsite logistics for set up and take down of a white tent, podium, generator, folding chairs and ceremonial materials such as an orange ribbon with I-4 Ultimate and FDOT logos, several gold-plated scissors and pair of safety cones.
