FHWA Every Day Counts 2 Center for Accelerating Innovation

OUR EXPERTISE HELPED CREATE VISIBILITY FOR HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION INNOVATIONS

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) needed a series of videos produced and a traveling exhibit designed and built to promote its Every Day Counts 2 (EDC-2) Center for Accelerating Innovation initiative. The program identifies innovative highway construction and business processes and then disseminates these advancements to state and local agencies to help speed up project delivery and address challenges presented by limited budgets.

Solutions

Global-5 helped the FHWA reach its target audience by providing video production, exhibit design and exhibit inventory management services along with marketing and communications support for one national conference and several regional summits.

EFFECTIVE KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER USING VIDEO

We produced a video series for FHWA’s EDC-2 conference exhibit and also for use in presentations, educational outreach, training and webinars. The video series included an overview of regional innovation summits where EDC-2 highway construction and business innovations were shared, coverage of an accelerated bridge replacement project in Maryland, traffic incident management training for first responders and examples of several state programmatic agreements that simplify environmental and historic preservation review and compliance processes.

FHWA EXHIBIT, THE LONG AND THE SHORT OF IT

We designed and produced a 10’ x 80’ EDC-2 traveling exhibit for national and regional conferences which featured interactive touchscreen kiosks, banner stands, table-top displays, life-size cutouts representing stakeholders and literature racks. The exhibit also could be scaled back to fit shorter spaces at smaller conferences.

LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT KEPT FHWA MOVING

We planned and managed video shoots in Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon and Wisconsin. We coordinated with FHWA focus group leaders to determine conference support needs and provided logistical support and inventory management for one national conference and several regional summits. We provided video editing and presentation support for educational outreach and training webinars hosted by the National Highway Institute.
