Integrating Tomorrow’s Advanced Transportation Technologies Today

In Central Florida, Global-5 managed branding, content and social media development, media relations and outreach for the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) ATTAIN Central Florida, a $65 million program funded by an Advanced Transportation and Congestion Management Technologies Deployment (ATCMTD) grant from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and matching non-federal funds and value-in-kind assets. The program is deploying innovative transportation technologies to improve reliability, reduce congestion and increase mobility and safety. Best practices and lessons learned from successful deployments will be transferred and applied to future deployments throughout the district’s nine counties.

Challenge

FDOT needed a partner to rebrand its FHWA ATCMTD grant program and provide a voice for informing the public, stakeholders and media about the myriad advanced transportation projects to be introduced under four integrated programs – GreenWay, SmartCommunity, PedSafe and SunStore.

Solutions

NAME GAME

Global-5 combined the wordmark ATTAIN with Central Florida to rebrand the program with a new name that communicates FDOT’s intention to achieve a positive outcome with each Advanced Transportation Technology deployment and the program location.

A NEW LOOK

To visually rebrand FDOT’s grant program, Global-5 designed a logo with icons representing transit modes and traffic system hardware being deployed. The rebranded color palette includes a combo of bright orange, green and blue colors frequently associated with Florida.

ATTAIN LANDING PAGE ON FDOT’S CFL SMART ROADS WEBSITE

Global-5 developed a landing page on FDOT’s Central Florida Smart Roads website to provide an online information source about ATTAIN Central Florida with links to fact sheets about GreenWay, SmartCommunity, PedSafe and SunStore.

QUARTERLY eNEWSLETTER INFORMS

Global-5 developed a quarterly eNewsletter to inform stakeholders and opt-in subscribers about ATTAIN Central Florida project deployments underway or in development. The first eNewsletter introduced the new program name, logo and visual identity system.
