Florida Public Transportation Association Statewide Education and Safety Campaign
Increasing Ridership and Value Awareness of Florida Transit Systems
Global-5 partnered with the Florida Public Transportation Association (FPTA) on a dynamic statewide campaign to promote its 40 bus, rail, and private transit members and the contributions that public transportation makes to Florida’s economy. Global-5 incorporated governmental relations messaging into the campaign to emphasize the importance of securing transit program support in the budget. Additionally, we managed the campaign’s launch at the Florida Capitol to ensure it gained maximum visibility among legislators. Our efforts included:
- Developing customizable, adaptable creative themes tailored to the unique needs of each FPTA market to ensure local relevance and resonance;
- Establishing a collaborative, member-based working group to refine messaging and visuals aligned with broader public marketing and government relations objectives;
- Deploying a comprehensive outreach strategy across experiential marketing, internet platforms, and social media channels;
- Producing high-quality video content and managing media planning to ensure consistent, impactful messaging across all outreach mediums.

Challenge
When the FPTA needed to raise public awareness and increase ridership across 40 diverse transit systems, including bus, rail, and private operators, Global-5 was brought in to deliver a unified, statewide campaign. The challenge lay in creating messaging that could resonate across Florida’s varied regions while aligning with safety goals and local priorities. Global-5 developed a dynamic, adaptable campaign that promoted the value and safety of public transit. Through strategic messaging, customized creative assets, and a coordinated media rollout, we successfully elevated public perception of transit and helped drive measurable increases in safe ridership across the state.
Solutions
Creative Development
We developed several creative concepts for the FPTA to review and approve. The FPTA chose our “Transit Connects Florida” theme to guide our in-house advertisement production efforts.
Production
Global-5 went into full production mode to ensure the FPTA’s advertisements could be produced, placed, and published on time. We developed radio spots in addition to increasing reach through bonus media placements through our media partnerships.
Strategic Media Buying
Our media buyers went to work to secure inventory for placement during three-month FPTA campaign. We secured ad space on radio/streaming, Google Ads, Meta Ads and billboards throughout the state of Florida.
Promotion
We managed the campaign’s launch at the Florida Capitol in Tallahassee during the 2025 Legislative Session to ensure the “Florida Connects Transit” campaign gained maximum visibility among legislators and economic development influencers.
Engagement
We engaged FPTA members across the state to provide them with our collateral and to use for their own local campaigns based off our creative concepts.
Bi-Lingual Approach
The FPTA wanted to ensure that our statewide messaging would be effective by running ads in both English and Spanish. We used research analytics to ensure our bi-lingual messaging would be most effective in reaching diverse audiences throughout Florida.
Advertising Stats & Results
The “Transit Connects Florida” campaign generated 106,000,000 impressions throughout the state during the three-month campaign duration.
Google Ads alone generated an interaction rate of 14% with nearly 1,000,000 engagements.
Fifty-four digital billboards placed throughout Florida generated 60,000,000 impressions, coupled with 4.5 million Facebook and Instagram impressions.
